Desiderate was formed in 2017 by Janine Leghissa, to give women gorgeous, high-quality jewellery that is a little bit boho, a little bit bling.

Says Janine, โThe origin of the word Taleeta comes from a Desiderate customer and friend of mine. My elderly friend had bought many pieces from Desiderate over the years. Knowing her as an ideal customer for a fashion label, I asked her, what should I call the sister brand?
She said Taleeta, as it means โbeautiful new thing' in her native language.
Unfortunately she has since passed away, so I never got to ask her how to spell it or even what language she meant. I wish Iโd been able to get more information from her, but it was only after she passed that I remembered our conversation and the name she suggested. The name is a tribute to our friendship.
